A 45-year-old male suspect allegedly shot himself at Hoedspruit policing area following a murder of a 44 year-old wife, 36 sister-in-law and attempted murder of another 34 year-old sister-in-law on Saturday 18 October 2025 at about 12:00.
Police were conducting patrol duties when they received a shooting incident at Mabins B village and rushed to the area.
On arrival found the brother of the victims who pointed out two lifeless bodies of her sisters with multiple gunshot wounds.
He further informed the police that the suspect arrived at the victim’s residence and parked his motor vehicle outside the yard and unexpectedly fired multiple shots at them.
During the shooting incident, another 34 year-old sister-in-law managed to run for safety but she was shot on the stomach and later then taken to a local hospital for medical attention.
Following the incident, the suspect departed from the scene and was allegedly found at his residence after he shot himself with his firearm.
The motive of the incident is currently unknown and police investigations are continuing.
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe has strongly condemned the incident pointing out that domestic related problems should be discussed and resolved amicably rather than engaging through violence as innocent lives are unnecessary being lost.
