A meticulously executed intelligence-driven operation has resulted in the apprehension of five suspects in the Seshego policing area, with the seizure of firearms, ammunition, suspected stolen cellphones, and designer clothing. Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, has commended the multidisciplinary team for their outstanding work.
According to reports, the members received intelligence about the suspects who had allegedly committed a robbery at Ga-Manamela village, fleeing the scene in a white Toyota Corolla and a pink Chevrolet Spark with unknown registration numbers. On Thursday, 12 February 2026, an intelligence-driven operation was launched, comprising the Provincial Tracking Team, Provincial Investigations Unit, and Polokwane Flying Squad.
The teams tracked the suspected vehicles to Sengatane village, where they were spotted on Matlala road. The vigilant team pulled over the vehicles, and during a search operation, they discovered two 9mm pistols, five live ammunition rounds, eighteen cellphones, one laptop, seven designer shoes, and designer clothes.
The five suspects, aged between 25 and 30 years, failed to produce necessary documentation for the items. Preliminary investigations suggest that the suspects may be linked to armed robberies in Seshego, Matlala, and Phaudi policing precincts.
The police urge anyone who has been robbed in these areas to come forward with proof of ownership to claim the seized items. The suspects face charges of robbery with aggravating circumstances, possession of unlicensed firearms, possession of unlicensed ammunition, and possession of suspected stolen goods, and are set to appear in the Seshego Magistrate’s Court on 16 February 2026.
