The Councillor found murdered this morning on Voortrekker Street in Klerksdorp has been identified as RM Sello, the ward Councillor for Ward 20 in Kanana.
The South African Police Service (SAPS) confirmed that the victim sustained injuries consistent with being assaulted with a brick and stabbed with a sharp object.
In a statement released earlier today, the Speaker of the Matlosana Municipality expressed her condolences on behalf of the council.
