A 39-year-old male suspect, Abel Maahlamela, appeared before the Namakgale Magistrate’s Court in Limpopo on Tuesday, 04 November 2025, facing charges of attempted murder, unlawful possession of firearm and ammunition. He was remanded in custody and will appear again on Friday, 07 November 2025.
The suspect’s court appearance follows his arrest by Namakgale Detectives during a tracing operation conducted on Monday, 03 November 2025, aimed at tracking wanted suspects in the area.
At about 08:30, the team proceeded to Nyakelang 2, where they traced and arrested the suspect linked to a recent attempted murder case reported in November 2025. A thorough search at his homestead led to the recovery of an illegal firearm and ammunition, which were positively linked to the incident.
Police investigations are continuing.
