A three year old child has died after being left alone inside a locked vehicle at a hospital parking lot in Seshego hospital in Limpopo on Monday the 27 of October 2025.
The mother who works at the hospital alleged left alone her three year old baby girl inside a locked vehicle around 07h00 for handover sessions to her colleagues at the hospital. It is believed that the mother then completely forgot about her child. She was found unresponsive around 15h00 inside the vehicle on a hot day.
A doctor confirm that the child may have died from heat and lack of oxygen while she was left alone in her mother’s car at the parking lot.
A culpable homicide case has been opened against the mother and the investigation is ongoing.A postmortem will be done to determine her cause of death.
