Two men have been arrested by the Provincial Organised Crime Unit and Thohoyandou Tactical Response Team (TRT) for allegedly extorting money from a subcontracting company in Lwamondo village, Vuwani policing area.
On Friday, 13 February 2026, around 11:00, the suspects reportedly demanded 30% shares from the company overseeing a WIFI installation project, threatening to halt the work if their demands were not met.
The suspects, aged 42 and 43, were traced and arrested along with their Toyota Hilux bakkie, which was seized as part of the investigation.
The suspects are set to appear at Vuwani Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026. Two other suspects remain at large, and investigations are ongoing.
