A fisherman has been left seriously injured following a crocodile attack at the Selati River near Mabikiri in Makhushane village, outside Phalaborwa, on Thursday.
The victim was reportedly attacked while trying to free a trapped fishing line in the water. Community members intervened by throwing stones, managing to chase the animal away and save his life.
However, the man sustained severe injuries to both hands. Paramedics and police responded to the scene, while residents have raised concerns as the river has been linked to previous fatal incidents.
