The police have confirmed the arrest of a second suspect in connection with the hijacking and senseless murder of an e-hailing driver in Pretoria, Gauteng. The authorities are still pursuing a third suspect and are hopeful of an imminent arrest.
A Bolt driver was strangled and suffocated inside his vehicle in Pretoria West shortly after picking up the suspects. His lifeless body and the vehicle were discovered in Atteridgeville. The heinous crime was captured on dash camera footage, which has been circulating on social media.
The two suspects are expected to appear in the Atteridgeville Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 16 February 2026.
