The Limpopo Department of Education Head, Mr. Maropene Seshibe accompanied by EMC members, the School Governing Body (SGB) and the School Management Team (SMT), conducted a 2-day visit to special schools in the Waterberg, Capricorn South and Vhembe West Education districts.
The purpose of the oversight visits was to assess and monitor the schools’ infrastructure, which has been deemed inadequate for effective learning and teaching.
The engagements follows concerns raised by the schools regarding several pressing infrastructure challenges.
These include the safety of school properties in light of ongoing theft and vandalism, deteriorating buildings and shortages of hostel and support staff among other issues.
