Police in Mahwelereng, under the Waterberg District, have arrested a 41-year-old man for the fatal stabbing of his 34-year-old girlfriend at Ga-Malepetleke Village on Friday night, 05 December 2025, at around 21:10.
According to preliminary reports, the victim was walking with a friend when the suspect, who was driving a maroon Nissan Micra, confronted her and accused her of infidelity. He allegedly attacked her with a sharp object and fled the scene.
Emergency Medical Services (EMS) personnel arrived but unfortunately declared the woman dead. Police later arrested the suspect and recovered the weapon believed to have been used during the incident.
Authorities suspect the case is domestic-related and investigations are ongoing.
The suspect is expected to appear in the Mahwelereng Magistrate’s Court on Monday, 08 December 2025, facing a charge of murder.
