A man tragically collapsed and died at a local tavern in Ga-Sekgopo after hugging a family member during a moment of excitement.
According to information received, the two were embracing when they both fell to the ground. The family member survived the fall, but the man showed no signs of movement immediately afterward.
Emergency services arrived on the scene and found the man lying unresponsive. He was declared deceased by paramedics.
The Modjadji’skloof police have opened an inquest case, and an investigation is underway to determine the exact cause of death.
