Alexandra Taxi violence has deepened as another taxi boss was shot and killed at a parking lot in Woodmead shopping centre in Gauteng on Thursday the 4 of December 2025.Alexandra Taxi Association (ATA) chairman Vusi Mayaba (52) is the latest chairman to be murdered after Alexandra Randburg Midrand Sandton Taxi Association (ARMSTA ) Molefe Victor Moeketsei was also shot and killed in Marlboro in October.
The shootings has left Alexandra Taxi Associations without leadership.Mayaba who normally travel with bodyguards,was alleged alone when he was killing on Thursday night.Two members of ATA were also shot and killed in December 2 in Midrand.His killing has brought the number of people killed during taxi violence in Gauteng to 86 since April 2025.#mapulanengnews
