
The Provincial Commissioner of Police in Limpopo, Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, has instructed detectives to investigate the murder of an eleven-year-old child found dead in his residence on Sunday, 16 November 2025.
Police were summoned to the scene of the murder at Mapuve village in Giyani, Mopani District. Upon arrival, a female individual directed them to the room where the victim was discovered. The victim was found wrapped in a blanket, lying in a pool of blood with an open wound on his neck.
Emergency medical services were contacted, and the victim was pronounced dead at the scene. The deceased’s identity is being withheld.
Preliminary reports indicate that the mother of the three children, aged two, five, and eleven, left them unattended at night. Upon her return the following morning, she discovered the eleven-year-old son deceased, wrapped in a blanket in the room.
