While most grade 12 learners are busy studying and preparing for their final examinations, others are planning house robberies. Katlego Mokoena (18) and Lungile Sithole (18) appeared at the Nelspruit Magistrate Court in Mpumalanga for the murder of 19-year-old Lusanda Mathabela. The two suspects jumped a wall at her home in Mataffin.
The deceased noticed them and screamed for help, whereupon one of the suspects stabbed her. Construction workers in the vicinity heard her screams and called for help. The two were cornered by the police and arrested. The young woman was found lying in a pool of blood and unresponsive; she was declared dead at the scene. One of the suspects, a grade 12 learner, will write his examination paper behind bars tomorrow, November 6, 2025. The case has been postponed to November 12.
