Police in Mokwakwaila are investigating a case of robbery at Mokgwathi Post Office. This follows after the victim alleges that on Thursday at about 14h30. was on duty at Post Office at Ga-Mokgwathi village in Mokwakwaila policing area busy with his duties helping the people recieving pension funds together with his colleagues when group of unknown men arrived at the post office.
He heard gun shots from outside and when he checked he saw the suspect holding the security guard pointing him with a firearm.
Afterwards he noticed that the suspects are four coming inside the post office one of the suspects was holding an iron rod and he smashed the counter glass with the iron rod. The victim alleged that he ran into the nearest room to hide.
The other suspect saw him and took him and demanded the safe keys which he gave them and they opened the safe and took the undisclosed amount of money.The suspects also took the complainant’s cellphone Samsung A2. The suspects were driving a Toyota quantum minibus without registration numbers.
The suspects ran away with the money and fired four shots as they fled the scene. Three empty cartridges were found at the scene. No injuries were reported.
The suspects are speaking pure pedi language and they are unknown at this stage.
