Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga Announce Matric Results

The overall 2020 Matric Pass Rate is 76.2% with a decline of 5.1% compared to Class of 2019.

Provincial performance is as follows:
1. Free state 85.1%
2. Gauteng 83.3%
3. Western Cape 79.9%
4. KwaZulu Natal 77.6%
5. North West 76.2
6. Mpumalanga 73.7%
7. Limpopo 68.2%
8. Eastern Cape 68.1%
9.Northern Cape 66%

The top ten destrict performance is as follows

1. Tshwane South in Gauteng with 89.6%
2. Johannesburg South in Gauteng with 88,1%
3. Gauteng North in Gauteng with 87%
4. Johannesburg North in Gauteng with 86.9%
5. Sedibeng East in Gauteng with 86.8%
6. Fezile Dabi in Free State with 86.5%
7. Thabo Mufutsanyana in Free State with 85.8%
8. Metro North in Western Cape and Ekhurhulani South in Gauteng with 85.5%
10. Motheo in Free State with 85.4%

Top ten Destrict performance in respective province are as follows

1. Nelson Mandela at 75.5%
2. Fizile Dabi at 86.5%
3. Tshwane South at 89.6%
4. Ugh in KZN with 81.7%
5. Waterberg 2 in Limpopo at 77.5%
6. Bohlabelo and Nkangala in Mpumalanga with 74.6%
8. Bojanala in North West at 81.2%
9. Namaqua in Northern Cape at 78.6%
10. Metro North in Western Cape at 85.3%
