Inquest docket after a man was found hanging on a roof

The South African Police Service in Letsitele outside Tzaneen are investigating a case of inquest following the gruesome discovery of the bodies of a couple at Nkambako village in the early hours of this morning, on Monday, 23 November 2020.

It is reported that the relatives of the deceased were trying to contact them for days but they were not responding to the their cellphones.

The family then decided to go to the house of the man. On arrival, they forced opened the door and were welcomed by a bad smell coming from the house. Subsequently, they found a 36 year old man and a 29 year old woman lying dead on the bed in a state of decomposition and immediately called the police.

The deceased were identified as Phindile Rikhotso and Lucky Ramahlabane.

The motive behind this incident is not clear at this stage but domestic related violence may not be ruled out.

The cause of death is currently unknown and will be determined by the postmortem examination that will still be conducted.

The police investigations are still continuing.
