Two suspects aged 29 who are facing charges of murder, attempted murder and assault GBH which were committed on 05 November 2020 at Marapong location have appeared on Thursday, 19 November 2020 at Lephalale magistrate court.
Ramadubu John Majadibodu and Lucky Matlhatsi Monene were not granted bail and their cases were postponed to 25 November 2020 for bail application and for further police investigations.
The suspects allegedly stabbed a 21 year-old Grade 12 learner from Tielelo High School during an altercation that happened outside a local tavern.
It is alleged that the deceased was walking with his cousin when he was confronted by the suspects who accused him of stealing a cellphone.
An argument ensued and they started to fight when one of the suspects hit the deceased’s cousin with a hard object and he ran away leaving the deceased behind.
The suspects continued to attack the learner(deceased) and also stabbed him with a sharp instrument throughout his body. The deceased tried to run away for his safety to his home not far from the scene but succumbed to his injuries on arrival.
Afterwards, the father of the deceased went out to investigate the incident and the suspects ran him over with a motor vehicle before they fled the scene. The suspects were traced and arrested within a short space of time.
Police investigations are still continuing.
