COSAS CONCERN OVER LACK OF SCHOOL TRANSPORT AND INTERNET CUT OFF AT LIBRARY

COSAS has released a Mudau statement raising their concerns the student are experiencing during exam time in Capricorn region. This time it’s where learners are supposed to be fully focused on their examinations and it remains COSAS priority to ensure that all their necessary needs are met.

COSAS said Department of Basic education failed to secure scholar transport for leaners in Matsiokwane and the internet is disconnected in community Libraries. It alleged that the Pupils in Matsiokwane have been deprived of their scholar transport till to date and they are walking to school.

COSAS has engagement with the MEC on the reopening of the internet services in the libraries. The organization believes that MEC listens for the sake of it and continue to fail the implementation part.

The organization is demand the reopening of internet services in the area.

“We will continue to remind the District Director that our pain of walking a distance to school will one day find us jumping tables in his offices.” Said the spokesperson
