A 29-year-old accused, Moses Mande “Thamahoga” , who appeared before the Musina Magistrate’s Court last week Friday, 25 September 2020 on a charge of armed robbery is now being linked with 10 more cases ranging from armed robbery, burglary business to robbery with an instrument other than a firearm that were committed in the Makhado policing area since 2015.
The Moses Mande was arrested in connection with an armed robbery incident that took place on 15 September 2020, where three suspects accosted a 65-year-old man who was standing outside his vehicle in the Musina policing area.
One of the suspects pointed the victim with a firearm and they forced him inside his vehicle and drove off until at the dumping site area.They then robbed the victim 02 cellphones, cash amount of money and few US dollar notes. They thereafter fled the scene leaving the victim and his vehicle behind. A case of armed robbey was then opened.
It is believed the suspect is responsible for several robberries that were reported by victims who were robbed while visiting the graveyards in the Makhado area. He allegedly threatened them with a firearm or a knife and robbed them of their belongings.
He is remanded in custody and will appear again in Musina Magistrate’s court on Monday 28 September 2020 and in Louis Trichardt magistrate’s court on 13 October 2020 facing three charges of armed robbery and burglary business. He will still appear in the same court soon on the remaining charges.
Police investigations are still continuing.
